Image
As the final week of RM 207—Disabilities and Inclusion—comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on just how much I’ve grown throughout the semester. Our discussions, readings, and projects have challenged and inspired me to think more deeply about accessibility, representation, and advocacy in everyday life. Each class brought new insights and perspectives that I’ll carry with me far beyond our in-class teaching. With the semester officially ending this Wednesday and our final exam just ahead, there's a mix of anticipation and gratitude in the air. Before we head into summer break, I want to thank everyone who followed my journey and took the time to read my work. Your support, encouragement, and thoughtful engagement have meant so much. Here’s to closing out this chapter strong, and to a summer full of rest, renewal, and new beginnings.

Welcome to week 12 reflection, where I will inform you what I have learned this week with some of the class learning material and material I supplied to complement the learning outcome this week. Also, we are almost done with the 14-week semester in the RM 207 Disability & Inclusion class at my University.   This week, our learning has involved studying sports-special Olympics, which includes the Paralympics and Extremity games, along with a sports accommodation activity, which I  will be posting on Saturday on this blog labelled as Post #21.   Special Olympics The Special Olympics provides opportunities to those with disabilities and gives them the chance to showcase their skills and abilities. It is a great way for those with disabilities to gain friendships, have fun, learn new skills and have something to look forward to in their schedule.  When did the Special Olympics start? It started in the 1950s and the early 1960s when Eunice Shrive saw how unfairl...
